OCAM² is a camera operating in the visible range, based on an EMCCD sensor with electron multiplication.

With a readout noise of less than 1 electron, OCAM² is the most sensitive scientific camera on the market, operating in the visible range (450 - 900 nm), while also being the fastest. Indeed, OCAM² is capable of capturing 2000 images per second, with a latency of 43 μs.

OCAM² exists in 2 versions: OCAM²K, and OCAM²S, which integrates an electronic shutter in the heart of its detector: thanks to a minimum aperture time of 200 nanoseconds, on a very short exposure time (500 microseconds), OCAM²S is used in particular for all applications with pulsed laser.

OCAM² allows imaging of brief events that do not emit light or cannot be illuminated; it is at the forefront of new developments in Adaptive Optics, Fluorescence Microscopy and Bio Luminescence.
