The GYTS model is adapted to aerial applications, particularly for long-distance communications and LAN.

The stranding technology (which means joining and twisting several browns to form a rope) provides an excess of length to the fibers and allows them to move freely into the sheath. This keeps the fiber unstressed when the cable is subjected to longitudinal stresses.

The external polythene sheath as well as the corrugated steel ribbon provide good tensile strength and resistance to crushing.
