The GYFTY model is a non-metallic cable that is used for power transmission systems in high-voltage areas as well as in areas exposed to excessive thunderstorms. It is mostly used for aerial applications.

There is an FRP reinforcement at the center of the cable. The PBT sheaths that maintain the fibers are filled with gel and are stranded around the FRP reinforcement. The sheaths are surrounded by a layer of aramid. Then the cable is completed by a polythene sheath.

This fiber optic cable admits a short term tensile strength of 1500 N and long term of 600 N and a crushing strength of 1000 N/100 mm in the short term and 300 N/100 mm in the long term.
