The fibre optic amplifiers of the OBF design for plastic-coated fibre optic cables with acrylic fibres are used when the fibre optic cables do not have to meet any special requirements in terms of heat resistance or resistance to aggressive chemicals.

The amplifiers can be mounted on a top-hat rail or using mounting holes. The sensitivity, light/dark switching or measuring principle can be conveniently set using buttons on the device. During operation, they are used to check the switching status, operational readiness, operating reserve and unsafe area.
