The Alcatel-Lucent 7357 ISAM FTTB SEM is a compact, sealed full-service IP access node for remote deployments, offering 48 VDSL2 ports with 8/12/17 profiles and ADSL/ADSL2+ compatibility. It is very cost-effective and fast to deploy because it is a self-contained unit - ideal as an FTTN complement or to cover small pockets of subscribers. The 7357 is part of Alcatel-Lucent's unique Distributed DSLAM concept, which allows operators to deploy and manage up to 24 small remote DSLAMs as remote line cards of a 7330 host. This means that up to 24x less individual nodes need to be managed and aggregated, resulting in significant OPEX and aggregation CAPEX savings.
The Alcatel-Lucent 7357 ISAM FTTB SEM consists of a sealed, weatherproof enclosure containing an ISAM 48p VDSL2 line card. It is temperature hardened up to +45C plus solar load, and is designed to be deployed outside, e.g. pole- or wall-mounted. The 7357 SEM uses passive cooling, making it absolutely silent - which is a huge advantage for residential deployments - and can be powered using local AC or remote powering over copper pairs. This means the SEM provides its own cooling and powering and does not require a cabinet, resulting in faster and cheaper rollouts. The 7357 also supports Alcatel-Lucent's unique Smart DSL technology, offering unprecedented line stability.
