Length
Normally hot rolled tubes can be delivered in length between 2.5 - 8.0 m. depending on tube size. Other length must be discussed with Ovako.
Straightness
The maximum deviation from a straight line is 1.0 mm on a gauge length of 1000 mm.
Surface roughness
Total height of the profile is max. 0.05 mm

Controlled cooling of tubes
After hot rolling, the tubes can be cooled at controlled temperature. The temperature is brought down to about 600 °C (depending on steel grade) and the structure is isothermally transformed to a coarse ferrite-pearlite. The treatment is comparable with isothermal annealing, but it results in a more coarse-grained structure. Controlled cooling gives excellent machinability.
Controlled cooling can be performed on tubes with outer diameter between 100 and 200 mm

Marking
Standard: The tubes are marked with grade, size and heat number longitudinally on each tube.
Special: Colour marking on tube ends. Hard stamping (Heat number, dimension etc).Material delivered direct from our mill in Sweden is marked with labels according to the Odette standard.
