The POF Terminator 30 welds plastic ferrules onto Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) cable using a 50 watt diode laser system. Ferrules are separated from two individual contact spools and transferred to the laser by a gripper system.
The operator inserts the cable ends into the POF Terminator 30 and starts the welding cycle. The fiber ends are positioned with a high precision centering system - available for plug / plug or plug / socket configuration.
The POF Terminator can used as an independent semi-automatic workstation or - with an optional interface - be integrated as a processing station in the POF Center 70.
HIgh Process Reliability :
The two most important parameters for laser welding are time and temperature. Both parameters can be set and adjusted with the graphical user interface. To ensure high process reliability, additional monitoring features are available. For example, the laser beam temperature and power are constantly measured using an integrated pyrometer in the laser head.
For consistent welding, the entire system is water-cooled. Ferrules are separated from the carrier strip by two separate punching devices located outside the laser unit.
