After research and try-outs, Bastin introduced it's first biobased packaging in 2010. However, there was little demand for this kind of product. Since Europe introduced it's Packaging Directive 94/62/EEC  in 2018, we are daily in contact with customers who want to make their packaging greener. In 2019 we got certificated to print several green marks on our customer's packaging so they can be recognized throughout the entire European market.

Packaging bearing the OK compost INDUSTRIAL label are guaranteed to be biodegradable in an industrial composting plant according to the EN 13432: 2000 standard.
The Seedling logo is awarded to certificated holders and printed on product that are in compliance with EN13432.
