Telnet is a standard protocol designed to work between any host (i.e., any operating system) and any PC or UNIX terminal. With the Telnet option loaded, the R-J3 robot controller can function as a Telnet server. Remote hosts can use a standard Telnet client to communicate with the server.
Current functionality on the server includes the ability to create KCL or CRT/KB (if these options are loaded) and teach pendant terminals over the remote Telnet connection.
The number of devices that show up on the Telnet screen is variable, and depends on how the ports on the controller are configured (from the SETUP PORT INIT screens). For example, the KCL device will show up under the Telnet screens only if one of the ports is configured for KCL.
