PRESS RELEASES
Spotting presses are used in both die and mould production processes. The size of these presses depends on the die or mould to be spotted. In general, the force that these presses exert is substantially less than the force exerted by production or tryout presses, since the objective is to test the die or mould characteristics rather than to produce parts.
Die spotting presses require guidance and stop precision to avoid the other half of the die being damaged by the cutting elements.
Moulds do not require as much guidance (normally column-guided), but it is generally better to mount rollers on the upper and lower plate. This improves ergonomics for operators.
