The 4+12 is a constant current/constant voltage, DC diesel engine-driven welder with a high-efficiency, three-phase welding generator that requires less fuel but has enough power for gouging with up to 1/4" carbons.
Output adjustment is via a potentiometer-type, full-range, Amperage/Voltage Adjust Control and a six-range Process/Contactor Control switch which includes four arc-drive (dig) settings in Stick mode. Remote contactor control, as well as remote amperage and voltage control, are via 3-pin and 14-pin MS-style receptacles on the front panel.
