The microF: A Compact, Innovative, and Automated Analyzer for Real-Time Continuous Formaldehyde (CH2O) Monitoring

The microF is specifically designed to measure formaldehyde in various environments using a technology based on the Hantzsch microfluidic reaction. This reaction involves:

  • Formaldehyde reacting with ammonium compounds (or ammonia derivatives) and a β-diketone (commonly acetylacetone).
  • Producing a fluorescent compound that enables precise measurement of formaldehyde concentration.

This automatic, compact, and portable analyzer utilizes fluorescence spectrometry to deliver high sensitivity and precision while remaining user-friendly.
