Greene, Tweed's Ener-Cap® seals offer higher sealing efficiency than traditional O-ring cap seals-the energizer design distributes force over a wider area and provides better containment of the cap.
The Ener-Cap consists of a solid thermoplastic cap ring energized by a custom-designed elastomer operating in a simple groove. The cap material has a low coefficient of friction comparable to that of graphite-filled PTFE, wide temperature capabilities, excellent wear characteristics and very good deformation resistance. The cap is solid, not split, adding increased sealing efficiency without compromising friction.
