OROS Balancing Solutions are software modules for balancing rigid and flexible rotors. These modules are well-suited for shop balancing or in-situ field balancing. They are designed to run on OROS analyzers

The Balancing Solution is part of the family of solutions offered by OROS for Rotating Applications. Balancing rotors is a common practice during fault diagnosis on rotating machinery. Based on the OROS portable and rugged analyzers,  the Balancing solution is well adapted for field measurements.

Also based on the order tracking analysis technique, it can be performed efficiently and accurately. The Synchronous Order tracking thus allows a precise phase averaging even if the rotating speed is not perfectly stationary. A Balancing report can be easily generated showing for example the correction diagrams. The Balancing solution the tool to bring for Balancing cessions.

With this technique, the number of machine starts is reduced, for example only 2 starts are necessary for a one plane balancing. When a balancing test has been achieved, the unbalance correction can be readjusted periodically without any further test thanks to the trim balance method.

Thanks to a one shot measurement, time and cost can be optimized for balancing tests. This technique can equally be used for balancing in series similar mechanical components basing the correction on only one machine start: this possibility is particularly interesting in production line Balancing.

2 modules are available:

• The Single/Dual plane software module is particularly suited for shop or field balancing of rotors operating in their rigid body region (well below their first critical speed).
• The Multiplane software module is designed to balance rotors above the first critical speed: meaning in the region where the rotor deforms and reaches its first bending mode.

Single/Dual Plane Balancing

• 1 or 2 balancing planes
• Rigid rotors
• 1 to 4 sensors (1 or 2 per bearing)
• Real time acquisition and 1X polar diagram (amplitude and phase)
• Steady state speed acquisition
• Acceptance of residual unbalance according to ISO 1940 / Balancing quality selection
• Size and weight: optimum size with OR34. Runs on the 3-Series instruments’ platform
• Trim Balancing
• Report generation
• Designed for non-experts

Multiplane Balancing

• 1 to 14 planes
• Flexible or rigid rotors
• Up to 32 channels for 1X acquisition
• Import 1X data (Amplitude and Phase vs. RPM from ORBIGate or from manual input from text files (csv template))
• Run-up, Coast-down, steady-state
• Balance at multiple speeds or ranges of speeds
• Calculate predicted Amplitude vs. RPM after balancing correction
• Multiplane report generation
