Waterjet cutting, an environmentally-friendly method, involves extracting materials using water at high pressure, which is pumped through a nozzle. The water, whether pure or with an abrasive, is then introduced into a small-diameter nozzle. Thanks to this combination of actions, it is possible to cut various materials, up to 200 mm thick, with exceptional precision and quality.
This is the only technology that can cut hard materials such as metals, minerals, glass (except safety glass), wood, etc., as well as soft composite materials such as rubber, foam, plastics, etc., with the same 'tool'.
Two water jet cutting methods are available: pure water cutting and abrasive cutting. Pure water cutting is used for fragile materials. Abrasive cutting is used to cut hard materials.
