The EVEC vibration dosimeter is placed on the driver’s seat of all types of machinery, with no mechanical or electrical connection, for measuring vibrations.
This vibration measurement solution includes a 3-axis accelerometer, a microcontroller that performs signal weighting from the accelerometer according to the ISO2631 standard, a sensor detecting the presence of the driver, and a battery for autonomous operation (>20h).
This vibration dosimeter is equipped with a detection algorithm for undesirable effects and can establish a wireless communication link to transmit measurements to the host PC/Pocket PC.
A few clicks are all it takes to prepare the measurement campaign and retrieve the results. This is done through the EVEC software, which can be installed on the user’s laptop or Pocket PC, both of which are equipped with Bluetooth® connectivity.
No sorting, processing, or user data handling is required. Thanks to the integrated detection device in the EVEC sensor, vibration exposure and the A(8) value, as defined in Directive 2002/44/EC, are immediately calculated from the 3-axis vibration accelerometer signals.
The EVEC software also shows how the measured vibration levels compare to the action level and exposure limits specified in the directive.
EVEC includes an automatic rejection software capable of eliminating undesirable events when calculating exposure levels. The rejection scheme in EVEC complies with the EN14253 standard.
In the standard version, the EVEC is delivered in a plastic case, which includes: an EVEC sensor, a semi-rigid interface (designed according to ISO10326) to be placed on the worker’s seat, a charger for the EVEC sensor, a user manual, a CD-ROM with the EVEC software to be installed on a laptop (requires Windows XP or VISTA and Bluetooth® interface) or a Pocket PC (requires Windows Mobile 5.0 and Bluetooth® interface).
The available options are: an external Bluetooth® key for PC, a PDA with pre-installed EVEC software.
