ISCAR is introducing a new family of DR drills which use new square inserts with 4 cutting edges. The new drills were designed with twisted coolant holes that pass through the drill flutes. The new design leaves more room for the chips to flow out of the hole uninterrupted.
The coolant holes do not pass through the center core of the drill, therefore, the drill is stronger and more resistant to torsion. Together with the new drills, three new insert sizes are being introduced.
The new SOMX inserts in 05, 06 and 07 sizes are thicker than the former SOMT and XOMT 06 inserts.
