The function of a Wear Ring is to guide the rod towards the cylinder head and the piston towards the cylinder bore of a hydraulic cylinder and to absorb the transverse forces which occur. At the same time, metallic contact between the sliding parts of the cylinder, e.g. piston and cylinder barrel or rod and cylinder head, must be prevented.
Slydring® hydraulic wear rings and guide rings are available in three different material types. All of them demonstrate outstanding friction properties and are wear-resistant:

Turcite® is for low to medium duty applications where there are limited radial forces

Orkot® materials are for heavy duty applications where there are high radial forces.
