The function of a Wear Ring is to guide the rod towards the cylinder head and the piston towards the cylinder bore of a hydraulic cylinder and to absorb the transverse forces which occur. At the same time, metallic contact between the sliding parts of the cylinder, e.g. piston and cylinder barrel or rod and cylinder head, must be prevented.
