Pathfinder is a flexible and easy-to-use piece of software dedicated to pedestrian and passenger flows in various situations (public transport stations, urban environment, airports, shopping centers, evacuation of public facilities, etc.).

This tool enables you to simulate and analyze pedestrian flows in terms of safety and comfort, to integrate architectural plans (AUTOCAD) and to view results with an incredible 3D rendering.

First, you have to define the geometry of your space/building – floors, walls, partitions, and so on – or empty spaces. Then, stairs, elevators and doors determine the logical communication between spaces. Finally, you can add all the elements represented in your real system - obstacles, furniture, etc.

In Pathfinder each person is modeled individually, with their own characteristics and behavior, and may be grouped by similar profiles. Agent-based modeling enables you to simulate in a very realistic and flexible way both normal behavior and situations of panic in complex environments. The number of agents in a Pathfinder model can range from several tens to several tens of thousands!

Eventually, you can run the simulation within the given time frame. Thanks to the panoramic view and the subjective camera, you can replay the simulation to consider it from all angles and to appreciate its realism and fluidness. You will be able to look at lines and density graphs in order to complete your study.
