ADDIPLAST GROUP spread its offer adding complementary activities with both ADDIPLAST and ADDIKEM.
Created in 1986 by CHANTEGRAILLE family, managed by the second generation, ADDIPLAST now generates a turnover closed to MEUR 20 with a hundred of employees (ISO 14001 and ISO TS16949 certifications).
With its unique knowledge in formulation, fire proofing and first choice compound coloration (PP Addilene®, PC Additer®, PA Addinyl®), ADDIPLAST added a new company to its core business: ADDIKEM.
Located in the same area as ADDIPLAST, this production plant managed by Maxime CHANTEGRAILLE conduct two main activities:
Both companies are supported by a common Research Center (9 technicians and engineers) fully equipped with:
ADDIPLAST Research Center (CRA) is with an affiliate of ADDIPLAST GROUP, operating at:
“Two complementary production technologies”:
ADDIPLAST, with its 25 000 tons/year capacity, possess several twin screw extrusion lines (pelletizing is done either underwater or by strands), for its compounding activity. 40% of its turnover is realized abroad.
Furthermore, colored polyolefin and cellulose fibers carriers like Addibio Renew® are a “must” in 3E and automotive industries.
ADDIKEM, with its 10 000 tons/year capacity, choses another technology setting in early September 2015 two BUSS Co-kneader lines (+ one twin screw extruder as a security tool for back up).
This particular technology demonstrate a rotation with back and forth movement of a profiled screw, within a carding cylinder. It’s specifically designed for the compounding of temperature-sensitive materials such as inflating agents, Zero-Halogen flame retarders, reactive silanes, etc, reducing shearing excess.
Both lines with their complementary capacities (from 60 to 250 Kg/h and 500 to 800 Kg/h), produce a grey room environment. This enables ADDIKEM to work together with the subcontracting industry in particular for sensitive high-end products and components intended for the pharmaceutical or alimentary sector, or even used in the technical environment (like special cables, tubes extrusion…) and automotive industry.
ADDIKEM also manufactures and commercializes its own Masterbatches ADDIBATCH, based on a wide range of components, especially polyolefin PE, EVA & PP, but also TPE, PLA and bio-based resins. These polymer matrixes are modified, reinforced, filled, or colored ,for example with fibers, mineral fillers, pigments, halogen free flame retardant agents, antioxidants, process agents, UV-light blocking agents, nucleating and exo-/or and endothermic blowing agents.
ADDIKEM also has adequate peripheral facilities which are in both upstream & downstream in the forefront of progress. The mixture of the components, in particular the gravimetric dosing of powders, additives and liquids, has been especially well suited in order to ensure both a high-degree of hygiene and an absolute accuracy in dosing. At the end of the granulation process, the production workshop is equipped with homogenizer silos which enable to ensure the production of 1 to 8T of prime quality products, with an homogeneity guaranty according to specific requirements. The inner quality control laboratory is fitted with elementary analysis tools (flow meter, Karl Fischer, spectrophotocolorimeter…), a multi-platen press, filter test specialized to estimate the quality of dispersions as well as an extrusion line for plastic films.
Much involved in the long-lasting developments, the R&D department of ADDIKEM focuses on various future-oriented application sectors, the renewable sources, green chemistry (in particular bio-based master batches) and the lightering of components.

Arkema and Addiplast sign polyamide deal
Arkema has announced a deal with French specialty compounder Addiplast that will see the latter develop a range of specialist polyamide compounds based on Arkema’s resins.
Under the agreement, Arkema will supply Addiplast with its Rilsamid PA 12 and Hiprolon PA 6-12 speciality long-chain polyamides, as well as its Rilsan PA 11 and Hiprolon PA 6-10, PA 10-10 and PA 10-12 bio-sourced polyamides.
Addiplast will use the Arkema resins to develop two new lines of specialty injection moulding compounds that it will sell under the Addinyl and Addibio names (covering fossil-based and bio-sourced grades respectively). Key target markets are high-performance applications in the automotive and electronics industries.
Addiplast, which was set up in 1986 and generates sales of around E17 million, already offers the polymer industry a range of specialty polyamide, polycarbonate and polyolefin compounds for niche applications, including grades using natural fibre reinforcements.
Arkema is a major producer of bio-sourced long-chain polyamides, a position it bolstered in 2012 through its acquisition of Chinese castor oil-derived sebacic acid producer Casda and castor oil-based PA maker Hipro Polymers.
