Torque Audit
Problem detection in bolted assemblies with a
torque audit
Measures are taken and detailed in a report. This torque audit allows you to diagnose issues with the bolted assembly and implement solutions, such as modifying the assembly or the design of the parts to be assembled.
In which situations?
-
You want to optimize the assembly process of your threaded connections.
-
You observe recurrent breakage in one of your assemblies.
-
You have noticed the loosening of one of your screws.
-
You want to analyze a series of screws to understand the origin of a problem in your threaded assembly.
How does torque audit work ?
As part of an industrial bolting service, a TRAXX engineer intervenes on your site to measure the tightening tension with the TRAXX-M2. The threaded screws or rods in question are analyzed in different situations to establish their mechanical characteristics under stress and diagnose the origin of the problem.
Following the intervention, the measures and observations are detailed in a report. This report allows you to identify the problem in the bolted assembly and implement an immediate and appropriate solution.
Examples of problem resolution with torque audit
-
AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY
During the intervention, the TRAXX engineer analyzed the tightening tensions in standard bolts to determine the cause of repeated failures in agricultural machinery. Following this service, JOHN DEERE engineers eliminated the cause of failures by refining the design of the next-generation machinery.
-
AUTOMOTIVE
Our advice helped determine the optimal tightening tension of disc brake fastening screws and cylinder head gasket screws.
-
RAILWAY
The intervention allowed for the control of the tightening tension of tramway coupling fastening screws to understand the origin of failures. Following this service, ALSTOM eliminated the cause of failures by refining the design of the fastenings.
-
AVIATION
-
