Modular steel containment bunds - BRX

Steel modular containment bunds for high-voltage transformers. For long-term storage of the transformer or to use the transformer when energised if no passive fire extinguishing system is required. For power and drive transformers, neutral point coils (between 300 and 1000 A), condensers, etc. Alternative solution to concrete pits when the ground is unsuitable or an urgent solution is required: areas where digging is difficult, rising ground water, tight completion deadline, etc.
 
Design
Modular system comprising 2, 3 or 4 containment bunds connected to each other to allow for the distribution of the fluids across the full available capacity of the bunds. Stationary legs welded to the bottom of the bund.
 
Hot-dip galvanised or stainless steel sheet to ensure an optimal lifespan. Copper or stainless steel terminal grounding system. Total dielectric fluid retention capacity.
 
Sealing checked and approved by the independent control body, APAVE. Bunds checked using liquid penetrant inspection procedure ARDROX 996 P2.
 
Use
Alternative solution to concrete pits when the ground is unsuitable or an urgent solution is required: areas where digging is difficult, rising ground water, tight completion deadline, etc.
 
Compliance of indoor and outdoor transformer stations with the applicable environmental regulations by adding a safety siphon and the FILTRELEC ECODESIGN® system to ensure compliance with the Water Act.
 
Installation
The modular steel containment bund is delivered in separate, ready-to-assemble units. The containment bunds that make up the BRX can be connected together quickly. The transformer can be placed on to it immediately. It must be assembled on a flat, firm and stable surface, such as a solid concrete platform, capable of bearing the load of the transformers.
