Unlike metallic labyrinth seals, seals constructed from Arlon will not gall or seize, allowing for running clearances to be set as low as 0.002 (0.0508 mm), thereby boosting compressor efficiency and performance.
Labyrinth Seals made from Arlon have exceptional strength characteristics yet remain somewhat elastic. This combination makes Greene, Tweed's Labyrinth Seals tough enough to withstand substantial impact yet resilient enough to flex and absorb shock.
Labyrinth Seals constructed from Arlon combine broad chemical compatibility, with excellent moisture/hydrolysis resistance and a low coefficient of thermal expansion.
