The development of increasingly smaller miniature pumps so far encountered physical barriers which made further reduction of the dimensions problematic. For example, smallest valves respond with increasing sluggishness because the density of the delivered medium does not become proportionally reduced. The consequence: there simply was a minimum size limit.
Utilizing the proprietary hrV Technology (High-Response Valves) a completely new solution has now been developed. After Schwarzer Precision already offers the world’s smallest vane and rotary pumps, a new generation of eccentric diaphragm pumps now follows with the EC Series 100.
With outside dimensions of 13 x 22 x 32 mm these pumps permit, for example, the construction of gas analysis devices the size of a cigarette box. Further applications can be found in breath analysis, spirometry or with portable respirators.
In spite of their size these 15.5 gram precision pumps are quite powerful: 1300 ml/min free flow, 850 mbar pressure or 700 mbar vacuum are results that can be proudly presented. Another key aspect is their minute current consumption; even the size of the battery packs of portable devices can now be significantly reduced.
The pump’s characteristics can be adapted exactly to each customer request. Drive options range from the economically priced iron core motors to the extremely durable bell type armature or brushless motors.
