Fives Cinetic has extended its family of cross belt sorters with the introduction of the SBIR Maxi Duty.
The SBIR MD family of cross-belt sorters has been designed to bring all the benefits of the “active” technology to applications where only passive technology was previously available.
The width-wise revolution in sortation technology
One of the key advantages of the SBIR MD is the unique feature of “width-wise” loading: items are loaded with their length perpendicular to the direction of transport.
This technique brings about maximal density of the items on the sorter, delivering a capacity much greater than the “length-wise” method at the same speed.
Parcel sortation, shipping and distribution processes are ideally suited to the new SBIR MD, a high speed cross belt sorter that can sort items up to 50 kg in weight and 1400 x 800 x 800 mm in size.
Further extending Cinetic Sorting's commitment to increase performance and simplify usage of the system, the SBIR MD family has a PC-based control system with a distributed I/O network, a very reliable off-the-shelf control architecture.
The SBIR MD is available as MD-A, MD-B, MD-2D, MD-W, as well as the MD-BH specially designed for baggage handling.
