Greene, Tweed's Orthtek® thermoplastics are engineered using selective carbon or glass fiber reinforcements and thermoplastic polymers, achieving maximum strength and toughness for critical Medical & Biotechnology applications such as targeting guides, external fixation components and halos. Orthtek delivers capabilities metals cannot match.

Radiolucent Orthtek composites are transparent to x-rays while maintaining the necessary mechanical performance for structures used in surgical equipment and devices. Orthtek composites from Greene, Tweed are much lighter than metals, providing attainable densities as much as half that of aluminum and one-sixth that of stainless steel.
