Resulting from decades of experience, the NSW NY grit washer (also called sand washer) provides excellent results in the washing of sand from wastewater treatment plants (1-5%, often only 1-3% organics).
The water/sand slurry is conveyed into the washer's tank, where the sand settles. An agitator and the injection of water separate sand from organic particles. The washed sand is then extracted by an inclined screw and discharged into a skip.
Washing the sand reduces its organic content to less than 5%, permitting its reuse for other purposes. It also removes odor nuisances.
The machine operates automaticaly, thanks to an electrical cabinet with touch screen, PLC and our washing program, specifically developed for this machine. The machine can also operate in manual mode, and some parameters can be customized as desired.
the washer can also wash sands issued from other processes or even other similar materials, please feel free to contact us, we will study your needs and washing possibilities.
We also provide longitudinal washers for large flows.
