The Alcatel-Lucent 8615 Instant enhanced Charging Collection Function (IeCCF), a key product within the Converged Payment solution, enables service providers deploying an IMS network to benefit from an end-to-end IMS charging solution, whatever the access network is (NGN,WiMAX, WIFI, or.). Indeed, IeCCF is a mandatory building block for IMS, and WiMAX off-line charging, as contrary to legacy networks where each node may generate their own CDRs, in IMS core there is no tracking of the network resource usage without IeCCF.
It retrieves off-line events, collects charging information from IMS core and application nodes, correlates these events and transfers them to the convergent billing chain such as the 8610 ICC Instant Convergent Billing product or 3rd-party billing system.
The IeCCF application can be configured to act as a standalone charging Data Function (CDF), standalone Charging Gateway Function (CGF), integrated CDF and CGF, or integrated CDF-CGF with Ga interfaces. The latest IeCCF Release 26SU6 supports 3GPP Release 6 and 7 IMS offline charging and supports all customer networks-IMS, UMTS, GSM, CDMA, ANSI, Wireline and Wireless. IeCCF compliments the Alcatel-Lucent 8610 Instant Convergent Charging suite (ICC) or Alcatel-Lucent 8620 SurePay® rating engines which support on-line charging to offer a fully compliant IMS/WiMAX convergent network.
