The Alcatel-Lucent 5526 Access Management System (AMS) is the premiere ANSI element manager that delivers a complete management solution for Alcatel-Lucent Litespan, Advanced Services Access Manager (ASAM), and Fiber to the User (FTTU) platforms. It allows for full remote support of network elements, including provisioning, software downloads, database backup and restore, fault management, disaster recovery and performance monitoring. The Alcatel-Lucent 5526 AMS provides an intelligent graphical user interface (GUI) to translate simple point-and-click actions to complex management information base (MIB) variables and sequences of transaction language 1 (TL1) or simple network management protocol (SNMP) commands.
The Alcatel-Lucent 5526 AMS provides full remote equipment and cross-connection provisioning for narrowband, wideband, and broadband services, remote database backup and restore functions, and remote software downloads. Products that are geographically dispersed far from the central office (CO) can be managed from one location. Once a product is installed, this remote functionality allows 100 percent of the local functionality to be accessible remotely. This can reduce costly site visits with scheduled database backup and software downloads.
The Alcatel-Lucent 5526 AMS can perform remote fault management, including 24 hour/day remote alarm surveillance with logs and alarm history. This includes real-time remote alarm and event monitoring with user-defined alarm views. Daily performance monitoring can be enabled from the Alcatel-Lucent 5526 AMS as well as performance history, traffic monitoring, test management and diagnostics. Quality of service (QoS) levels for digital subscriber lines (DSL) can also be remotely monitored, increasing the standard of performance for enhanced services.
