The 2 helicopter hangars were sealed by old steel folding doors; Maintenance costs were very high and occasionally, it occured that an axle of a hinge came loose and fell on the floor. To handle the doors by hand was very heavy, and there was much air-flow at the bottom and top of the doors, as well as between panels. The users also needed light to work.
Crawford/Megadoor was chosen to provide an electrically operated door with a white translucent door leaf, and a single door was selected to provide good air tightness, easy operation, very little maintenance and high security.
