The new ADDI-DATA Ethernet counter system MSX-E1741-1VPP has 3 counter inputs, 32-bit, for sin/cos encoders (1VPP, 250 kHz) to acquire position values. One analog input is used for acquiring sensor and actuator data with high precision. The system is specially designed for use in the industrial field close to the sensors: It complies with the degree of protection IP 65, has an operating temperature from -40 °C to +85 °C and comes with numerous protective circuits. Furthermore, it has a standardized robust metal housing, filters on the inputs and an optical isolation up to 1000 V. The ARM®9 technology was selected for processing the acquired signals. With this technology, data can be combined with data packages via time stamp and buffered on the 64 MB onboard SDRAM. In order to allow fast and easy configuration and monitoring, the Ethernet system is equipped with a web server. With the monitoring program ConfigTools, which is included in the delivery, the system can be easily detected in the company network, administrated and updated. Several trigger options for counter inputs as well as for analog inputs are available.
There are two ways to read the counter inputs: With the synchronous acquisition, the inputs are initialised and then the automatic acquisition is parameterized. With the asynchronous acquisition, the digital inputs can be read through SOAP or Modbus function. LEDs show the state of the counter inputs. The voltage of the sin/cos encoders occurs through M23 female connector (5 V).
The MSX-E1741-VPP system also has an analog differential / Single-Ended input for the high-precision acquisition of 24-bit sensor and actuator data like temperature, motor speed etc. The signals can be amplified x1, x10 or x100 through software. They are acquired with a maximum frequency of 100 kHz per channel. The following input voltages are possible: ± 10 V, ± 1 V, ± 100 mV, ± 10 mV (24-bit), 0-10 V, 0-1 V, 0-100 mV, 0-10 mV (23-bit).
Through synchro connection, several MSX-E systems can be freely cascaded (daisy chain) and synchronized up to 1 µs. Thus it is possible to start the acquisition of several MSX-E systems at the same time, to clearly establish the origin of the signals, generate trigger events and to synchronize the time. The point in time of the data acquisition is automatically recorded through a time stamp.
