SISTO-C 2-piece TFM/EPDM diaphragms Diaphragms with thicker TFM film are also available for SISTO-C valves. In order that the actuation force can be fully utilised without affecting the plastic diaphragm’s long service life, the TFM diaphragm is backed up by a second diaphragm made of EPDM. A metal pin embedded in the TFM diaphragm helps lifting the diaphragm and thus opens the valve. To avoid damage to the diaphragm during valve closure, the metal pin is fitted to the bonnet assembly by means of a floating nut. Both TFM and EPDM comply with FDA specifications. This 2-piece TFM/EPDM diaphragm is perfectly suited to applica-tions involving high chemical and thermal stress.
