This tinplate jerrican is UN approved as a single packaging for the transport of dangerous goods, but could also be used as an inner packaging within an approved outer package, such as a 4G or 4GV box. If using a 4G package, the shipper should check to ensure that the outer package has been tested with this particular jerrican. If it hasn’t, then the shipper would void the UN certification for that particular shipment, meaning they are not compliant.
